Spent Weekends

We've been putting in some work most every weekend since July at Sarah's parents' cabin. They're building on an addition. Ok, so it's really more of a very nice lodge than a mere cabin, but it's good times (especially the part about enjoying the moutain air afterward).

Pronunciation

This week Chloë discovered pumpkin seeds - and apparently really likes them.

• Sarah: Chloë, want some pumpkin seeds?
• Chloë (2): Yeah! f**kin' seeds!
• Sarah: ...OK, here's your PUMP-kin seeds.

Hellooo

• Aiden (7): Why does Mom get a bigger piece of chicken?
• Robert: Because she worked all day today and you just played and had fun.
• Aiden: Hellooooo? I got very sweaty out there!

Caught

Chloë (2) thinks big brother Aiden's (7) room is the holy grail of entertainment spots. She's supposed to stay out. Well, I caught her wearing his Batman slippers, standing on his bed and playing with his too-small-for-toddler toys ever-so-quietly so as not to be caught.

Already Old

While visiting with Sarah's grandparents who are turning 90 this year and reminiscing about the times they took care of their grandchildren when they were young:

• Grandma Dorothy: When you were little we used to tell you: "We take care of you now so you can take care of us when we're old." Then you used to reply: "But Grandma, you're already old!"

Soccer Fans

• Aiden (7): Dad, you're crazy when you watch soccer.

Favorite Things

Aiden's newest favorite thing: Rocking Chloë to sleep and listening to her tickle laugh.

Park Time

Just found these shots we took a few weeks back. Sarah and the kids have the best eyes in town.

Intel Inside
