Afternoon drive via I-205 Southbound in Portland, Oregon:

• Aiden (6.5): I'm glad there's no traffic right now.
• Robert: Yeah, me too.
• Aiden: Traffic is gnarly.

On Making Good Decisions

Today, Aiden and I were catching up on Star Wars the Clone Wars together.

• Aiden: I like Obi-Wan. He always makes good decisions.

I "Bacon" Your Pardon?

Breakfast:

• Robert: Chloë, don't spit out your bacon! Man she's being fussy.
• Aiden (6.5): Yeah, and selfish right now too.

Lunch:

• Robert: That pizza over there has bacon on it.
• Aiden: Yeah, it is pretty good.

Dinner:

• Robert: Aiden, you're gonna like this steak.
• Aiden: Does it have bacon on it?

Chloë (1.5) was starting to fuss in the store:

• Aiden (6.5): Oh Chloë, you'll be just fine. Trust me.

Is It A Shovel?

• Sarah: Hey Aiden, I got you a surprise while we were on our beach trip!
• Aiden: What is it?
• Sarah: It's a surprise, but it's so cool I think I want to use it too!
• Aiden: Is it a shovel?

It wasn't a shovel. It was a drawing book. But a shovel would be useful.

Happy Anniversary To Us

It was the 3rd, to be exact. We went to the beach, had a great stay and ate a lot of fresh crab. Sarah looked great at dinner and I just did my best to keep up. We're very happy to have made it to three years and are really looking forward to another year and many more beyond that.
